Well Gang, looks like the old hotel is in for a face lift this winter. As we did with the store reconstruction we will post pics as we go. Hotel will get new floors, bathrooms will be redone, walls will get a new finish to them ( gone will be the cinder block look:), new beds with queen size beds going into the upper rooms. We will also have generator back-up power, will be adding cable TV's (sorry Arpad you were out voted on this but we will take yours out when you visit lol) and a new paint job in and out. We will also be adding a maintanence area with a place to put your changed oil, so you can stop pooring it down our drains grrrrrrrrrr. You will also see minor changes around the property as we continue to bring Deals Gap close to this century lol.

Bummer. Total bummer. In recent years I've been able to wake up there and for about 45 seconds think I'm back in the '60s barracks and am still 20 something years old and still able to kick "stuff".
Please save me one room! Please.

I know there is a thread for ideas ect.....
But when you upgrade the rooms (although I like them the way they are) can you put some grip tape or some non slip material in the bottom of the tubs. Taking a shower I almost went flying.
Also a larger trash can other than the one in the bathroom, somewhere in the room. That little can fills up fast and having a larger one would be great so that I don't leave such a mess.

TWO good ones! Yes, with the 'hard' water there, the soapsuds are extra slippery (good thing it's not a jail).
Well, if i HAVE to deal with sat-TV, I guess I can live with it  . It'll prolly be glued to the WX channel tho... ;)

Thanks guys, all the tubs are coming out and grippy tape with new stalls will be in place. Their are 55 gal cans just outside each room but we will look into bigger ones inside as well

I have had this happen up there also, once staying there by myself. would have been embarrasing to have someone find me neked in the tub unconcious, especially after I run all the hot water out and there was only cold water. "I was in the pool, I was in the pool!!!!!"

Brad, I think you guys are doing great!!! A couple of questions though, when you say the upper rooms are going to have queen size beds do you mean rooms 9-14? What about the rest of the rooms will they still have a single with the bunk bed??? Thanks!

The motel and the outside shower / restrooms would look nice with siding to match the grill or store.

Are there going to be phones in the rooms as well?

I recently stayed in the hotel. I have stayed several times in the past before the recent updates.
The recent work was not a dramatic change, but was needed and well done.
new floors and paint, same beds, sat tv was nice because it rained 1 1/2 days of my 3 day stay.
bathrooms were greatly improved with up to date shower stalls and toilet.
Brad yall did a good job. keep up the good work.
ps just a suggestion , if possible wifi would be nice. even if it were for an extra fee.
Butter Bean, How was the water pressure? That was the only thing I ever did not like...I head they changed it.

Cat, I stayed in room 14 in June and the water pressure seemed normal. I would also say they are using a water softer but I don’t know this for sure.
