During our trip to the Dragon we saw a guy with a Lotus getting ready to run it. Not sure how he ran but I don't believe he was going to run it spiritedly. I was telling my husband it would be cool to just find when a cool group of cars are coming in and sit and watch for awhile (you can't go to the Dragon and SIT for long.) We came in one evening, ran the Dragon the next day, and left via the Dragon the next morning; being our first time there we didn't get to watch much. I would really like to watch some of the better sport cars run it and the sport bikers draggin knees. I would love to see the Ferarri's run it! But as I looked on the schedule for the Dragon I noticed they only 'drive through'. :(
What's the coolest thing you've seen on the Dragon? If you have pics show them.
We were there on a weekday and probably the coolest thing I saw on the Dragon was a black bear. We got there before it was dark and I missed the turn to 28 and headed up the Dragon. A bear ran across the road in front of me, it was cool! Growing up we camped in the Smokies sometimes and I got to see the progression of people feeding the bears, not a good idea. Which is why I was surprised the dumpsters weren't emptied more often.
The biker in the white leathers on 6.12 was pretty cool to watch. Only got to see him as I drove by though.
