It's a long ride from Toronto Canada, but the roads and people at the GAP are worth it. The roads surrounding the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort are absolutely breathtaking. The staff and friends at the resort are very helpful and provide a very relaxing atmosphere.
We try to take over the resort twice a year at least. It's the kind of place you never get sick of going to and dream of duiring our long cold winters.
See ya soon.

I'll be meeting some friends in Memphis first week of June then heading over to Deal's Gap. It will be my first trek across TN on a MC. Anybody have any suggestions for roads to take. We probably won't be real concerned with making good time as we have all day to get from Memphis to Fontana Village. Good MC roads is a higher priority. One thought was to plan a gas/food stop in Lynchburgh to check out the Jack Daniels Distillery.

Take 55 right outside Lynchburg to Mc Minnville. 55 is nothing special, the idea is to get you to McMinnville. Once there take state highway 30 all the way to Etowah. 30 is a great MC road. Also takes you right by Falls Creek Falls SP. Makes for a nice scenic butt break. Take 310 out of Etowah to 39 over to Tellico Plains where you pick up the Cherohala Skyway (143). Take 143 over to US 129. 129 up to the Deals Gap store for food and fuel. If you have enough daylight left, run the Dragon down and back. If not shoot straight down to Fontana from the store. There are more scenic roads you can take, but the suggested route gives you a combination good MC roads, good scenery and a fairly direct route. Some consider the Cherohala second only to the Dragon for the fun factor, and in my eyes it trumps the Dragon for scenery.

I agree, if scenery is what you are after, roads like the skyway and foothills parkway have better views and pulloffs, onced you pass the overlook and head south, the next paved pulloff is the store.

Hey Brad, you responded to me last week about some info for our trip your way on the 27th. I think I told you before we are all packing on our bikes so space is limited. my question is about picknic tables or other available tables for a small tent city, (maybe about 7-9 tents) Do I need to bring my boy scout survival book and build one? one table would be great. we are coming out of the Charlotte area and will be with you guys thursday around 3:00 through monday morning. we can't wait to get there. if the weaher stays on this course it should be perfect.
thanks,
Karl
