Hey guys, this last Memorial Weekend marked my buddies and I 3rd trip down to Deals Gap. Yet again we have had an ever better trip then the last two. We showed up at 6am Friday morning and left at noon Tuesday camping at the Gap. So many new expirences and skills learned this year. We helped a couple who went over the edge and landed 20 feet down. Drove a guy from Bryson City Hospital back to the Gap as he unknowingly blead all over my floor mats (His pants are hanging on the tree), chewed the ass out of some dude in a 500hp Vette that considered both lanes on 28 his, and even did some bear hunting in flip flops at 1am at the dumpster with a dozen other crazy people.
Some of the coolest riding we did was a late night run with 2 other guys we met on the camp ground. We did an over-look run, I was th 4th one. The view of seeing the 4 of us from the back riding down a tunnel of light, dropping into corners like jet fighters one after another was something I could watch for hours. The moist smells of the woods, sounds of revving engines and the babbling brook at night compleatly eliminate my insonima(That and riding like your in a chase scene for 12 hours a day do that).
After this trip though we may move our time down to put us more in the week days of Memorial day. The traffic is huge on the weekends as I'm sure you know. Riding all afternoon on Monday made us feel like locals(we want to be locals). With our even more refined riding skills we will now take to our first Track day with Sportbike Track Time at Grattan Raceway in Michigan.
We thank eveyone at the Gap for the great services and food, Killboy & Killgirl for the kick ass pictures!
See you next year, I'm already counting the days.
