Hey Brad a little advise

I am planning a trip down there. I have been looking at the last full week of May 07. I would be there on a Tuesday and possible a Wednesday. I see by the schedule that there is a group finishing up on the 23rd. The UpNorthImport.com from Toronto Canada

In your opinion would this impact my first trip down there? I am doing the weekdays to avoid as much traffic and large groups as possible. I am a cruiser rider and I want to be able to take time and stop and see the sights and pull off and do pics. Just enjoy the time. Not too worried about the police crack down. No plans on trying to go fast on roads I have never seen. Or ride outside my abilities. Thanks for your input!!

Hey Pat, Not to speak for Brad but just go. It is rarely so busy that you don't have the time of your life. In my opinion, which Brad is welcome to correct, the busiest time is the week of the Honda Hoot in July, 15,000 bikers descend on the area and it is still a great time ( not all on The Hill at once obviously). Put aside your apprehensions and you won't believe how much you are going to enjoy it. The only problem you will now have is figuring out how to get down more often.

( By the way, the absolute best place to stay is at the resort, it is 3 feet away from the best riding in the U.S., your bike is parked right outside your door, couldn't be more convenient, food is basic and excellent, firepit where you can tell lies into the night, people have great fun and not allowed to be rowdy, mountains, lakes, trees, curves and you won't believe how well you are treated and how many friends you are going to make )

LOL.. its not me.. Its the company I work for. We have 6 shifts and I work weekends. Friday thru Sunday. Put in 36hrs and they pay me 40...LOL Its awesome!!

Sorry for missing out the last few days. Pat, call now 800-889-5550 May is close to 100% full. Do not worry about a polics crack down it is mostly rumor mill. TN still has a man power as well as a money restraint problem. During the middle of the week will be slow and you will be able to enjoy all the roads in the area.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't really worried about the crack down part. I want to enjoy the trip and taking those turns at high speed isn't what I am about. I guess I will miss out on staying there then. I don't have the exact dates planned yet. I am going to be there the last or next to last week in May. Going to kind of play it by ear with the over all weather report over that time frame.

I'm finalizing plans with about 5 other buddies to come down the Wednesday before Memorial Day Weekend and stay through Sunday. It sounds like the weather shouldn't be a concern (hoping for now rain), but how about the traffic and leo's the weekend? Should we have any concerns? We are flexible on dates so we could move our trip forward or back a little to try and have the most enjoyable experience. :)

STAY AWAY ON HOLIDAY WEEKENDS !(ONE BIG PARADE!) Try going the weekend after the holiday. Police are usually taking a break and there is a lull in traffic as well.
