Just come and enjoy, you will be treated well and be welcome....you will also meet some real characters. Lodging - stay at Deals Gap Resort since it is the best way to fill your day with good things, 3 feet from The Dragon, and meet good friends, sit in the restaurant and eat xlnt food , watch all the characters go by, almost as good as watching all the different animals at a zoo. If you can come in April you may be able to make the BOSB ( Beginning of the Season Bash) , it's a ball.
Be safe

Have you checked to see how expensive it's going to be to ship your bike back and forth ? If not, might want to consider renting...

Hi David,
We are landing at Charlston(sp) then riding to Atlanta, having 6 days around that area, Then were heading off to Daytona bike week for few days then down to the keys. Not sure if that anywhere near you?

Yes we have looked into this alot, and got the price down a lot from when we first planned this trip, its costing us roughly about £500 ($984 at todays rate) to ship each bike over for the 4 weeks, which i dont think its that bad, plus it would be really cool to get some piccies of my own bike somewhere as great as the Usa. Just a dream most of us that are coming have had.

Kev,
My wife and I will be "doing the Dragon" in June / July 2007, which is 7-8 months from now. WOW, your trip is 18 months out!
Where are you in the UK? I make two business trips a year to the Wolverhampton / Birmingham area. On one of the trips each year, I usually have time to stop-in at the Harley dealership in Wolverhampton.

Let me offer you some help, if you bring the bike into the port of Norfolk, get them over to our warehouse and I'll have them unloaded for you.You can also keep the crates here until you come back and load them back up. Won't charge you anything so that will save you some money anyway. Deal's Gap resort is 9 hours from here, can see the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way.
By the way, that is a good rate.

Many thanks for the offer khelton, Ill pass what you have offered to the chap who's organising that part of the trip.
I belive were using a container that will fit all 13 bikes over in one!
What about the customs people, do you have any dealing with them?

Yes, we are also operators of the customs examination station which is down the street and the regional foreign trade zone.. I doubt you will have any problem with that. If you do , we'll help. What broker / forwarder are you using ?
By the way, make sure you trust the people who are tying down your bikes or crating them. They take a lot of hard knocks enroute.
