Last Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 20), my wife and I were involved in an accident coming out of Calderwood Corner on the Dragon. I would like to thank those at the Deal's Gap Motorcycle resort for all the assistance they gave to me and my wife.
I believe it was Brad who called a wrecker for me and several other people administered to my wife. Being involved in a motorcycle wreck was not enough, she was also stung by bees on her hands.
Also, Brad arranged for a ride for my wife back to the Two-Wheel Inn when he saw there would not be enough room in the wrecker for us and the two people operating the wrecker.
Finally, Brad loaned me a helmet so I could ride my motorcycle back to the Two Wheel Inn and not get a ticket. (It turned out the only major damage to my motorcycle was the left mirror was ripped off the fairing.) Hopefully, you got the helmet back from the proprietor at the Two Wheel Inn.
I hope to return to Deal's Gap area in the future. The country there is beautiful and the people great. Once again, thank you so very much.

You are more than welcome. One thing I have learned about motorcycling in the past 3 years is for the most part it is one big family regaurdless of what you ride. When someone goes down everyone helps out. I have seen sport bikers helping cruisers and cursers stoping for sport bikes. It is what makes this more than a sport or industry by far. I have seen alot of car folks passing a motorist with a flat tire or one walking down the street with a gas can for miles without a single car stopping. No way you see that with motorcyclists. You hear way to many stories about folks helping each other out when a bike is involved. So good for us, we i.e. motorcyclists are doing it the right way, one good act after another.

Hello all...
I'm glad you and your wife are OK!
This is my 1st post but I wanted to comment on the Deals Gap crew. 2 years ago two buddies and I visited the Gap in our cars (Corvettes). Well, three of us went up but only 2 came down. We did not have an accident but rather one of the vettes broke a timing chain. The fellas where solo as the ladies decided to stay at the restaurant. When I returned to get help, the GAP crew was there with open arms assisting. The 1st thing asked was if everyone was OK and no bodily harm. They then contacted a wrecker and arranged for the car to be towed down. Our lady friends later informed us on how hospitable the folks where there. It got pretty late that evening and they stayed open until we had the car on the flat bed. What a crew!
I'm not sure if it was you Brad, that helped us or if you remember since you probably get a lot of these events...but a BIG THANK YOU!
As a side story...here's the funny part:
The car needed a flat bed since it was soo low. Well the local guy who does the towing is pretty known in that area. He shows up and we get the car on the truck. I get into my car with my buddy and we follow the truck back. As we are driving, I notice the Flatbed is leaving me! I look at my buddy and he says..."You better keep up.. that guys is kicking your A$$" hahahaha. I tell you the truth.... I had a hard time keeping up with him. When we got to the store I jumped out and he just laughed. He already knew what I was going to say! He tells me that he gets that reaction all the time. "I was raised in this area and know it like the back of my hand...Don't feel bad..hahahaha" .
So 12hrs later, the car was towed back to Florida.
BTW: We are coming again this WEEKEND!!!!:D It's been 2 yrs. Hopefully this time we will all leave on our own. :p
