Hi all,

My first post so be nice to me.

I am planning to make my second trip down from Nova Scotia to the Gap in late October. I expect to be there for a few days spanning the last weekend of the month. As I was last there in July 2006 I have no idea what to expect for October weather. I realise it is the mountains and anything can happen but someone want to take a guess?

Also when does DG Resort close for the season?

Thanks

Final Day for the season is 21 Nov. Weather in late oct can go either way, lows may be in the 40's highs should still be in the upper 60's to mid 70's. Or it could be snowing but I dout that will happen. All in all we ride until late Dec here so you should be ok.

Brad,

Just been reading some other posts and I see the restaurant will close before the motel. Will it be open through October?

klattu I had a look on the www but can't find the car show in Cherokee. Is it a particular type of show? hot rods, antique, etc

Can you buy beer at the DG Resort or is it in a dry county? If so towboat I would be happy to purchase you a tasty malt beverage!

Sorry Gang, we are in a dry area here. No beer sold at the gap. You can go two miles down the road to Tapoco Lodge and they can sell you beer as they have 2 tenis courts which apparently in NC allows you to sell regaurdless if you are in a dry county or not.
