Besides the resort, what are some must see places to eat? I'm looking at anywhere from Gaitlinburg to Robbinsville to Bryson to Franklin.

Natahala outdoor center. ride through the nantahala gorge next to the river. You can't miss it. $7 for a lunch sandwich/fries or "sherpa" food. I prefer their breakfast. again, not expensive but a huge plate of potatoes/brocolli, cheese, onions and such and home made salsa for it.

Nantahala Outdoor Center is a good place to eat, people will leave their dogs outside to wait on them. River runs under the restaurant and beside where you are eating, pretty healthy food too...good idea..

Another thought, The Timbers in Townsend, best steak and seafood w/in a 100 mile radius, small place, family run , all wood interior, they actually don't advertise because they have all the business they want.

mt pisgah up on the blue ridge parkway is good too. not overly good, or overly cheap. but it is nice surrounded by glass and the mountain views. main thing is that if uou are on the3 parkway in that area, you can get a bite to eat!

Hey Tu Kewl which gps system do you use and what are the pros and cons of it? Sorry for getting off the subject but I just wanted some info before I purchase one.

I have the Garmin Quest. It is an amazing unit. $450 CAD and its waterproof and runs on lithium ion battery. The only problem with it is its only 115 megs of non expandable memory. The upgrade to this is the Quest 2 which has a lot more memory. But I'm really happy with it. Its nice and compact and fits easily on my rr with a ram mount.

mom and pop place in robbinsville in town. its a girls name i think.cant remember.ask a local in town thats how i found it. judys or something with a j me thinks.pit stop on 129 and pumkin center area has great burgers.nice people too.cherokee, gatlinburg, pigeon forge, and all the other extremely congested areas have dozens of places that will take your money for the same stuff you can get anywhere probably at better prices. gotta have the gap pancakes and bacon for breakfast.watch out for the guy with the pony tail he touched my butt once (or maybe twice)
