Wife and I are planning a vacation and were wondering, what's it like in the Spring? Say April or May? I know no one can forecast the weather, but is this a rainy season? What are the temperatures like? Any bugs, mosquitos that would make the trip miserable? What's the speed limit on this road and how fast does traffic usually travel? I ask, because it might make a difference in how I plan the route. I will be pulling my bike camper, and I can either leave it somewhere and come back for it, or I can just take it with me and continue on. Also, if anyone has recommendations on area campgrounds, that would be great. We're driving up from central Texas and plan on making this a 3,000 mile journey to remember.

Spring can be the best or worst, choose a week or a weather system, make your plan and come ride. Damp cold pavement is damp cold pavement wherever it is found, here or San Saba or Boerne or Llano or...
Honestly, not be be an absolute local chauvinist, very, very, very few non hillbillies should be concerned with the local TN 35-45mph signs. Fully, totally on the record here, hold me to it - ifn' you and your pillion rider can come here out of the box, off the trailer and average north of 40 on the gap road, THIRD run(two warmups for being tourists) , I'm buyin' you a case of Shiner.
