september ride

we will be arriving in gatlinburg on sept. 10th. being from south louisiana, is there anything i need to know about riding to deals gap? is the ride fairly safe to first time riders to the area? any tips would be helpful

We tell everyone the same thing, you can find about 12 posts or more on safty tips for the gap. Here is the bottom line, ride your own ride, do not exceed your skill level, let faster bikes pass by pulling to the white line and waving them by and please do not try and keep up with faster riders if it exceeds your level or the bikes abilities. Do this and you will have no problems at all. I would be more worried about the traffic in Gatlinburg, try and avoid main street during the weekends, can take you along time to get from one end to the other with all the traffic. Have a safe trip.
