Coming in from Shreveport, La next weekend. What's the best way to get there(quickest vs.most scenic vs. safest, etc.)?

I have some recommendations depending on whether you think you might be approaching from the Birmingham, Huntsville or Nashville side. Where will you be staying when you get into the area? Are you going to make a one or 2 day trip from Shreveport? The Gap is a great ride, but most people find other roads in the area to be more enjoyable unless you are into motorcycling purely for the sporting aspect. I can give you some suggestions that lean in either the sport, tourist or dual sport direction.

I'm at the gap right now, left Shreveport Memorial Day. I had never been here myself so I took the directions from the diffrent web pages. I took I-20 to I-75 and got to the Cleveland turn off after dark. I had a hard time negotating that town because there are several bypass roads that steered me away from the actual HWY 64 you need to be on to get here from the south side. I wasted almost an hour in that town but that may just be me. My next trip here will be what I am going to do to get home in the morning. From now on I will go North to Texarkana to I-30. Get on I-40 at Little Rock and stay on that all the way through Memphis and Nashville. Just before you get to Knoxville You will see a highway with 2 names Hwy 321 and 73. Take that south. It will take you under and past I-75. Stay on 321 till you get to 333 south(6-7 miles). It is a short loop that will take you to Hwy 411. Take 411 south(less than 10 miles) till you see HWY 129 South
Deals Gap and the dragon are on this highway. To get to Robinsville you will
pass through the dragon on your way down. Be carefull and have a safe trip.
I'll be on the road next couple of days but let me know how your trip went.
