| Continuation
of NC 28 from Deals Gap. This portion of 28 is an awesome
ride along the Little TN River
Valley. The first 10 miles is still a little rough, as
far as the pavement goes, but the curves are great. Once
you reach the Macon county line the pavement is new,
and you get into less curves and awesome views of the
river.
You will find some local traffic on this part of NC 28,
but during the middle of the day, you will see very little
non-bike traffic. Once in Franklin, you will have many
choices of great places to eat, stay and more country
roads to continue on. For me, this is one of the better
routes
in NC. Worth taking the trip. |

| ATTRACTIONS: Franklin
is the Ruby capital of the world, or so they say, lol.
You will find a lot of gem mining operations
and a gem museum. But for me, the best part of Franklin
is the ride there and the great choices of food to recharge
for more great riding. |
